      Hi Gargank!

      This is a great question and one that people have asked for many centuries.

      We now know that everything we see in the universe was created at a single moment in giant explosion called the Big Bang. This event was the birth of everything we see, including time and space and the material that eventually came together to make our planet.

      The Big Bang happened about 14 billion years ago…. that was a long time ago indeed! But it took a long time for that material to came together to make the Earth, which happened about 4 and a half billion years ago.
