      Hi,
I’ve heard of this method. Usually the banana is used after rubbing toothpaste on the CD.

The idea behind this is to to use the tiny crystals in the toothpaste to polish the surface of the disk to basically even out the scratched areas. And using toothpaste to do this actually does work.

But then people use bananas and for the life of me I don’t know why …. the toothpaste should be good enough on its own. With some car wax afterwards to make the surface a little stronger.

      Sorry, I can’t give you a better answer 🙁

Huh, I’ve never heard of these possibilities using toothpaste or bananas…just shows, every day’s a school day! I’ll have to remember this when getting out my old CDs 🙂
