The bacteria I work on Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus eats other bacteria.
It is small than normal bacteria, so it swims about really fast and when it bumps into an edible bacteria it bites it and attaches to the outside of the bacteria, then it pushes its way inside.
When Bdellovibrio are inside they start to eat up all of the food the other bacteria has inside it, it does this by using proteins called enzymes.
As the Bdellovibrio finishes eating all the food (the insides of the other bacteria!) it divides into 3-6 bits making new Bdellovibrio! These then burst out of the dead empty bacteria they were living in and try and find more bacteria to eat!
This youtube video shows Bdellovibrio growing inside a green cell!
