I don’t think ghosts are real. I cannot envisage any physical explanation for how a form of matter would be able to appear and disappear at will, walk through walls, and do all other cool things that a ghost can do.

Yes, as Andrei says, everything about a ghost is naturally and scientifically wrong. What we have learnt as scientists today suggests that what ghosts are made of, and what they could do, is not logically possible.

I think in reality, humans seek intrigue and a thrill….we love a good mystery! The power of the mind is very strong. Not only can we imagine some quite unusual things, but we are good at convincing ourselves we’re right. Very anxious or stressed people often have very real, convincing hallucinations; their mind is playing tricks on them.

Other times, we may genuinely see something very strange that seems un-natural, but it can actually be explained by science. The Northern lights are a wonderful display of lights in the sky that really is quite magical. Anyone who didn’t understand the science behind it would think it was a wonderful, magical event. Ghostly, you might say. In fact, these lights are due to particles from the sun entering our atmosphere and getting ‘excited’ (more energised), which makes them glow fluorescent!

There are so many strange events happening on our planet, but I feel most of it can be explained. Perhaps when people see ghosts they are seeing a strange but natural event??

Still, there is a part of me that likes not knowing everything – mysteries are what can make life fun!
