      Hi,

      Despite what you you might have heard elsewhere, the ink inside your pens is generally not poisonous.

      Although you should definitely not swallow too much of it. If you swallow a large amount of ink (more than an ounce, that’s like two full mouthfuls) then you should get medical advice immediately. As too much of the ink chemicals in your body can be harmful.

      It can also cause eye irritation if you get it in your eye. If that happens, be sure to wash out your eye with plenty of clean water.

      This is because of some ingredients in the ink that can undergo chemical reactions and pass into your bloodstream and make you a feel a bit unwell.

      Although, in general, ink from your pen is pretty harmless. So no need to worry!
