      Interesting question

The definition of ‘being drunk’ is when you have drunk alcohol to the extent of losing control of one’s body or behavior.

This loss of control is because of what alcohol is doing to your body.

If you are drinking water but someone has told you it is alcohol you wont be getting drunk or losing control.

But there is a little effect called ‘the placebo effect’ this is commonly talked about in medicine and means our beliefs about what we are drinking/ what pill we are taking can cause us to believe there is a real change in our bodies even if there isn’t!

So some people may feel like they are drinking alcohol if they are told they are because of the placebo effect. ( but wont actually be drunk)
